Is your business’ website going to survive googles new “mobile friendly” test?
Google latest algorithm update is set to be bigger than Panda and Penguin and will shake up thousands of businesses throughout Australia.
Where does that leave your business?
If your website isn’t mobile friendly by Google’s standards, you could be in trouble.
As more than 60% of search traffic comes via a mobile device and almost 80% of mobile searches convert to a sale, your business can’t afford to be negatively affected by this change.
From April 21, 2015, Google will be rolling out this update globally.
You will be deemed to be mobile friendly or not – there are no shades of grey
“Mobile Friendly” websites will be greatly advantaged in mobile search results, with everyone else thus falling down.
So how do you know?
The easiest way is to click here and do Google’s check.
It’s really simple – just punch in your website’s address and you will be given a Yes or No.
If the answer is no, what do you do?
You need to upgrade to a “responsive design” website.
Do note that this is distinct from a “mobile” website. Google considers a responsive site to be preferable over separate mobile sites (those with a m.domain.com, mobi.domain.com and so on. “Responsive design is Google’s recommended design pattern.”
