When you think about great Australian artists/designers, you’ll probably look to the cities of Sydney or Melbourne. But let’s not disregard the local Brisbane talent that’s made (or starting to make) a lot of noise.
Known for her quirky, bright and conceptual imagery, Brisbane based artist Lauren Carney uses colourful and dreamy character-based storytelling to connect personally (as well as aesthetically) with her audience.
With a fine appreciation for the crafty, vintage and handmade, she has a body of work that pushes the boundaries of creativity, utilising digital illustration techniques that are capable of performing on a wide range of mediums. Her work has been projected on wide screens at Coachella, exhibited in national/international galleries and printed in magazine publications.
From collaborating with international musicians such as Azealia Banks to working with top advertising agencies and fashion labels, this cotton-candy Brisbanite is leaving her colourful watermark wherever she goes.
