When we say that Ronin Marketing prides itself on putting the client’s best interests before our own, we mean it in the most practical and fundamental ways. There are many sections within this website where we state what we do. However, here’s a few random examples of what we don’t do:
We DO NOT use preformatted “Marketing Strategies” or advice.
There are people out there who sell business owners on a business or marketing plan, but these documents can sometimes be little more than an embellished template that simply does not cater to the specific needs of your business and your place in the market. At best lazy and at worst, downright dangerous, this approach is the exact opposite of our own. Ronin Marketing approaches any analyses and Marketing Strategies with a strong dose of gravitas.
You paid for the work, so you own the work.
Whether it’s a logo, photography, or a website; we don’t hold onto the rights and lease it back to you or anything like that. If you’ve had photography commissioned, you get every original shot that was taken. If we build a website, it’s yours – we don’t rent it to you or try to tie you to a hosting deal where you could lose access it if you decide to move on.
We don’t outsource your web content overseas.
Beyond believing in supporting Australian jobs, we believe that the best online results come from content written by local marketing professionals, not cheap overseas labour.
Whenever possible, we build websites using “Open Source”.
Rather than using a proprietary custom CMS (Content Management System) that for all intents and purposes locks you to one supplier, and is practically impossible for a third party to untangle and edit at a later date, we deliver websites that are easily edited, added to, modified and moved.
We don’t practice “Black Hat” Search Engine Optimisation (SEO).
Google’s algorithms are becoming increasingly good at spotting techie shortcuts that cheat their system. We’re of the view that practices such as link farming, using robots to create inbound links and the like simply don’t deliver you a very good long term investment. In fact, even in the sort term, their effects are looking shakier and shakier. The bottom line is that your online presence is an asset, and care should be given to invest in assets of high, lasting quality, not ones that can disappear like a house of cards with the next algorithm change.
We don’t create Social Media for the sake of it.
ALL communications from your business, and in the name of your brand are important. Yet there can be a tendency of “quantity over quality” when it comes to the way some services draft social media content. At best, your investment is wasted on aimless filler rather than brand-relevant messages, and at worst, you can have a PR nightmare. Long story short, we ensure that every task plays its part, from the biggest strategy to the smallest Tweet.
